Sankarani River

The Sankarani is a tributary of the Niger River in West Africa. It rises in the Fouta Djallon highlands of Guinea, then flows northward into southern Mali, short forms the border between the two states and joins about 40 km above the city of Bamako with the Niger.

In the catchment area of the Sankarani several crops are traditionally grown, it has deposits of iron and gold and covered approximately 35,500 km ². Two-thirds of which are located in the area of Guinea, where his biggest tributary, the Dion flows.
