Sanseirui

Sansēru also Sanseiru (Japaneseサン セールor三 十六 手; Chinese三 十六, Pinyin sānshíliù ) is a kata of karate. It is practiced in Goju - Ryu et al.

Name

Sansēru means in Chinese the number 36 This is referred to formula 6 x 6, a Buddhist concept. The first six numbers are for eye, ear, nose, tongue, body and spirit ( skandhas ). The next six figures symbolize the color, the voice, the sense of taste, smell and justice. It is also referred to as the " dragon - kata ".

Bubishi

According to the Bubishi the name of the kata comes from the 36 vital points of the body, which can be effectively attacked by the techniques of the kata.
