Santiago Pérez (cyclist)

Santiago Pérez Fernández ( * August 5, 1977 in Grado ) is a Spanish cyclist.

Santiago Pérez began his career in 2001 at the Portuguese cycling team Barbot - Torrie. In his first year, he got to choose a stage of the Tour of Portugal itself. He then moved to Kelme -Costa Blanca, where he remained for a year before he went to the Swiss team Phonak. In the Vuelta a España 2004 Pérez won in the last week a mountain top finish and two time trials. He was second in the overall standings and came up to 30 seconds ran to the winner Roberto Heras. During the Vuelta but he like his team-mate Tyler Hamilton tested positive for blood doping foreign and she received a two -year ban. After the lock Pérez has signed a contract for the 2007 season in the Spanish Professional Continental team Relax- Gam.
