Santogold is the debut album by Santigold published in 2008 (actually, Santi White, at that time still active under the stage name Santogold ). The musical range of the album is very far - it ranges from hip- hop to Electronic to add skirt. In addition, the album contains elements of pop and dub.

Cover and Artwork

On the cover of Santogold is the blurred and underexposed photograph of a woman - possibly Santi White - to see, from whose mouth flows a goldglitzernde cloud. This artwork was taken up at an early pressing of the LP ( LIZARD111V ); she appeared as a transparent vinyl with mica inclusions.

Reception

Santogold reached in the album charts by Billboard as the highest position of 74th place

The reviews of Santogold were predominantly positive. The music database Allmusic leads the album with four out of five stars. Music critic Robert Christgau awarded his third best rating "A-". In the magazine Entertainment Weekly was to read: "The album is not perfect, but in a time of retro rock and watered- Pop to Santogold feels rough and true to.
