Santos-Dumont (crater)

Santos -Dumont is an impact crater on the lunar front side in the northern part of the Montes Apenninus. It is located south of the promontory Fresnel and southeast of the large crater Autolycus. To the south is the mountain range Mons Hadley and south west of it the landing site of Apollo 15

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1976 by ​​the Brazilian air pioneer and inventor Alberto Santos Dumont.
