Sarah Menezes

Sarah Gabrielle Cabral de Menezes (born 26 March 1990 in Teresina, Piauí ) is a Brazilian judoka. It occurs in the super light weight of ( class up to 48 kg ).

Menezes won the 2005 Brazilian Championships their first national title and could defend this in 2006, 2008 they finished third. Also in 2005, she won at the Pan American Championships in Caguas third place of their weight class, as of 2009 in Buenos Aires. In 2010 she won the Pan American Championships in San Salvador. Her first global championship titles won Menezes at the Junior World Championships in October 2008 in Bangkok, next she won many other international tournaments or placed in the top ranks.

In the Judo World Championships 2009 in Rotterdam Menezes was fifth and a year later at the World Judo Championships 2010 in Tokyo Third, as to the Judo World Championships 2011 in Paris.

2008 Sarah Menezes first participated at the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing, but finished only 19th place at the Olympic Summer Games 2012 in London, she won the gold medal in her weight class with a victory over the Romanian and reigning Olympic champion Alina Alexandra Dumitru after already in semi-final had won against the Belgian and later Charline Van Snick Bronzemedaillträgerin.
