Sarah Monzani

Sarah Monzani (* spring 1949 in Hempstead, Hertfordshire ) is a British make-up artist for the British and U.S. film, which won the 1983 Oscar for best makeup.

Biography

Born in the second quarter of 1949 Sarah Monzani began in the mid -1970s her work as a makeup artist and hair stylist in film productions and acted for the first time in 1975 at Knots by David Munro at making a movie with.

For the make-up in the adventure film Quest for Fire (1981 ) by Jean -Jacques Annaud was won together with Michèle Burke at the Academy Awards 1983 Oscar for best makeup. For this they got together Michèle Burke and Christopher Tucker in 1983 the British Academy Film Award ( BAFTA ) for the best mask.

In 1997, she was next to Martin Samuel nominated for a further British Academy Film Award for best mask and indeed for Evita (1996 ) by Alan Parker. For the mask in the fantasy film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009) by Terry Gilliam she was finally nominated in 2010 not only for another BAFTA Award, but also in the year 2010 for a Saturn Award for Best Make-up of the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.

Other well-known films with designed by her make- ups include Alien - The sinister creature from another world (1979 ) by Ridley Scott, the film comedy Club Paradise ( 1986) by Harold Ramis, as well as Operation Valkyrie - The Stauffenberg assassination (2008) by Bryan Singer.
