Saran (Loiret)
Saran is a commune with 15,200 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Loiret in the Centre region.
Geography
The small town is located about five kilometers north - and thus already in the direct catchment area - Orléans, and 105 km south of Paris. Saran is on the edge of the Natural Park Forêt d' Orléans.
Neighboring municipalities are Cercottes, Chanteau, Fleury- les- Aubrais, Orléans, Saint -Jean -de- la- Ruelle, Ingré, Ormes and Gidy.
History
By Saran leads the former route of the Pilot Aérotrain d' Orléans, a project of an air track, which was followed from 1965 until 1974.
