Sarbinowo, Gmina Dębno

Sarbinowo ( German anger village ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland. It belongs to the municipality Dębno in powiat Mysliborski. The village has about 500 inhabitants.

Geography

The village lies at an altitude of about 64 meters above sea level in the landscape Neumark.

The nearest neighbor sites are approximately three kilometers to the east of the village Krześnica and in about two kilometers north of the village Suchlice. The administrative center of the municipality is situated approximately six miles north of Sarbinowo town Dębno. The German -Polish border, which forms the Oder, is located about ten kilometers south of the village.

History

The village is first mentioned in 1262 as Zorbamstorp. By sound shift and sound change evolved from Zorbamstorp, whose name is most likely due to the exonym Sorb, 1335 the name Tzorbensdorf. This was written down in different ways depending on the writer, so that the name Czorbendorf from the year 1337 is recorded in documents. In the records from the year 1400 we find only a slightly modified name Czorbindorff. The b was over the years to an n, thus it was from Czorbindorff Tzornendorff ( 1451 ). 1460 was followed by anger Dorff and 1758 finally anger village. During the Seven Years War, the Battle of anger village took place in the area on 25 August 1758.

In 1945 Zorn village came under Polish administration, the inhabitants were expelled and settled the place with Poland. Since then, the village bears the name Sarbinowo.

At the site itself and the Fort is anger village is one of four outer forts of the fortress Kuestrin.
