Sardinian Long- eared bat (Plecotus sardus )
The Sardinian Long- eared bat (Plecotus sardus ) is a bat species from the genus of long-eared bats ( Plecotus ) within the family of Myotis bats ( Vespertilionidae ).
The species is endemic to the island of Sardinia and was described only in 2002 new. It is similar to the brown long- eared bat (Plecotus auritus ), but is larger and has a much longer tragus ( ear covers). Their fur is dark brown in color.
The Sardinian Long-eared is not yet known in Sardinia of three places where they live in heavily forested areas especially. As sleeps her serve primarily limestone caves.
