Sarong

The sarong is a skirt that consists of a sewn-together fabric. It is widely used in South Asia and the South Pacific region and is supported mainly by men, so it is mostly a men's skirt. Depending on the country he is known under different names, for example lava - lava or pareo.

Is held the sarong by a knot at the belly. Normally, the sarong extends to the feet, but you can beat him twice and so knee-length wear, which increases the freedom of movement.

You get it in different colors and patterns, for example, tie-dyed. Floral patterns are often reserved for women, but worn in Polynesia by men.

Sarongs are relatively inexpensive garments and are therefore often rather worn by poorer men among the public, while the richer their prosperity like to show the fact that they carry the much more expensive pants and put on the sarong only at home.

Similar is the wrap-around skirt that consists of a single panel and is wrapped around the waist. Very similar is the Longyi in Burma, the Kikoi in East Africa and the Belted Plaid in Scotland.
