The Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport is an airport located near the city of Saskatoon in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It is used exclusively civil. The airport is named after John Diefenbaker, the thirteenth Prime Minister of Canada.

The airport has 6 passenger boarding bridges, 32 check- in desks and a customs / immigration control, are handled in the international flights. Some bridges able to handle larger aircraft such as the Boeing 747. For international flights, the airport from the Canadian air navigation NAV CANADA is certified. For incoming international passengers, the Canada Border Services Agency is responsible. In the year 2001 800.000 passengers were recorded at the airport, making it the largest in the province. In 2005 the number rose to more than 900,000 passengers. In 2007, over one million passengers were recorded. With a passenger volume of 1.21 million and 88,627 aircraft movements in 2010, the airport was one of the twelve largest in Canada.

Facilities and infrastructure

The airport has a terminal that has been extended several times due to increasing passenger volume. There is also an airport fire department, several hangars and cargo warehouses. In the terminal there are several shops, restaurants and cafes. The terminal was renovated recently in 2005 and enlarged. In 2010, the further expansion of the terminal at seven passenger boarding bridges began with an enlarged check-in and waiting area. Due to the further increasing passenger numbers, it was decided to build a new terminal, due to open in 2012.
