Saskia Noort

Saskia Noort ( born April 13, 1967 in Bergen ( North Holland ) ) is a Dutch journalist and crime writer.

Life and career

Noort studied journalism and theater studies in Utrecht. She works as a freelance journalist for the Dutch edition of Marie Claire, TopSanté, VT Wonen and Ouders van Nu and writes columns for the Dutch Playboy and LINDA. 2003 published her first mystery novel Volver naar de kust who became a best-seller with over 200,000 copies sold and was filmed with Linda de Mol 2009. Her second novel, De eetclub was made ​​into a film in 2010 (directed by Robert Jan Westdijk ) and was awarded the 2010 French prize Prix SNCF du Polar. Their two debut novels have been nominated for the Dutch Krimipreis Gouden Strop.

Her novels reach in the Netherlands Bestsellers conditions, the total circulation of their books in 2011 amounted to over 2 million. Her books have been translated into English, French, German and many other languages.

Noort has a son and a daughter and lives in Amsterdam.
