Å aÅ¡tÃn-Stráže
Šaštín - Stráže is a city in the northern West Slovakia.
The municipality was created in 1960 by the merger of the municipalities Stráže nad Myjavou ( Strascha German, Hungarian Strázsa or since 1900 Morvaőr ) and Šaštín ( German Schlossberg, Hungarian Sasvár ). These two villages are also the two districts of the city. To September 1, 2001 Šaštín - Stráže was declared a city.
Geography
The city lies on the River Myjava in Zahorie. It is located about 18 km from Senica and 65 km from Bratislava.
