Sathyamangalam Wildlife Sanctuary

The Sathyamangalam Wildlife Refuge ( Sathyamangalam Wildlife Sanctuary ) is a nature reserve on the border of the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala in southern India. The area was originally a forest reserve ( Sathyamangalam Forest Division ) and was declared on 8 December 2008 Wildlife Reserve. The reserve is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and extends from 10 ° 29'15 " to 11 ° 43'11 " north latitude and 76 ° 50'46 " to 77 ° 27'22 " east longitude.

Flora

Due to its location between the Eastern Ghats and the Western Ghats, it occupies an important strategic position in the combination of both natural landscapes. Fauna

The reserve is home to the Bengaltigers and the Asian elephant. In addition, sizeable populations of Axishirschen, Sambarhirschen, Gauren, blackbuck, langur, giant squirrel and smaller holdings of four- horn antelope and wild boar are found. In the Moyar River, which flows through the area, Marsh Crocodile comes before.
