Satoru Iwata

Satoru Iwata (Japanese岩田 聡Satoru Iwata, born December 6, 1959 in Sapporo ), the President is ( Daihyō torishimariyaku shachō ) of the video game pioneer Nintendo. After graduating, he got a job at HAL Laboratory, a Nintendo subordinate, dependent developer company, among other things, is responsible for successful games series such as Kirby, Adventures of Lolo or Super Smash Bros.. Biography

Satoru Iwata was on the second largest island of Japan, Hokkaido, born in 1959. Iwata had an early interest in the production of video games. He wrote during his free time games for his electronic calculator.

After finishing high school, Iwata himself enrolled at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Iwata started to work initially as a game programmer for HAL Laboratory, Inc. During the 1980s Iwata was involved in many projects of HAL. Outside of his work for HAL Iwata also worked independently for NCL. He was responsible for the programming of a number of NCL developed games. Only a year after he had started at HAL, Iwata began to coordinate software production and development of various published by Nintendo titles.

During Satoru Iwata is often cited as the creator of the game Kirby, in fact it was Masahiro Sakurai, who developed the character of Kirby as well as the basic model for the game. However, it was Iwata's participation in the project, which eventually produced the first title in the series. The game was designed for Nintendo's original Game Boy handheld system. The intention was to create a game for beginners, in which each player has any skill, each level and reach the end. Kirby's Dream Land was released in Japan on 27 April 1992 and in America in August of the same year.

Iwata 1993 rose to President of the company and held this post until 2000.

In 2000, changes Satoru Iwata from HAL to NCL. He was the head of the Department of Planning company Nintendo, where he was responsible for the global basis of the corporate planning Nintendo. Iwata's experiences within HALs over a 18 -year period were in the highest degree valuable for Nintendo, especially with regard to the launch of its latest gaming system.
