Saulx (river)

The River at Menil -sur -Saulx

The Saulx is a river in France, which runs in the regions of Lorraine and Champagne- Ardenne. It rises in the municipality of Germay, and drained initially in a northerly and then in a westerly direction. The river flows after 115 kilometers in Vitry -le- François as a right tributary of the Marne. On their way the Saulx crosses the Haute- Marne, Meuse and Marne.

Between Contrisson and the mouth of the Canal de la Marne au Rhin runs parallel to the river. The flow is used for the water supply to the channel.
