Saundra Santiago

Saundra Santiago ( born April 13, 1957 in the Bronx, New York City ) is an American actress.

Life

At the age of 13 years, Santiago moved with her parents to Homestead in Florida. Both her parents are from Cuba and Puerto Rico.

From the University of Miami, she received a scholarship and majored in psychology. During her time at university she discovered her interest in acting and graduated after graduation further study of theater arts at Southern Methodist University, which she also successfully completed.

Known worldwide Santiago was her role as policewoman Gina Calabrese in the U.S. crime series Miami Vice in the 1980s. She also appeared with in the U.S. series Guiding Light and The Sopranos as well as in the movie Beat Street in the role of Carmen.

Other roles she took on the series Law & Order and, since 2009 in the role of Carlota Vega in One Life to Live, where she took part in the year 2004.
