Savina Monastery, Montenegro

The Serbian Orthodox Monastery Savina is located east of Herceg Novi in the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro.

Set in a park of old pines and oaks complex consists of a cemetery, two churches and the monastery building itself The smaller, richly decorated with frescoes church dates from the 11th century. The large church was built of Korcula in the 18th century by the artist Nikola Foretić. Worth seeing are the magnificent iconostasis.
