Savva Timofeyevich Morozov

Savva Morozov Timofejewitsch (Russian Савва Тимофеевич Морозов, scientific transliteration Savva Morozov Timofeevic; . * 3 Februarjul / February 15 1862greg in Orechowo - Zuyevo, .. . † 13 Maijul / May 26 1905greg in Cannes) was a Russian businessman.

Savva Morozov came from an orthodox family of merchants. He studied physics and mathematics in 1885 at Moscow University and from 1885 to 1887 chemistry at the University of Cambridge, while he gained his first experience with the organization of a textile factory in the UK.

He funded the Social Democratic newspaper Iskra.

His house became the headquarters of the Moscow Proletcult.
