Saxtons River

The Saxtons River is a right tributary of the Connecticut River in the U.S. state of Vermont.

The Saxtons River rises north of Windham on Glebe Mountain in the Green Mountains. From there it flows in a predominantly easterly direction. The Vermont State Route 121 follows the river. On the river are the towns of Grafton, Saxtons River, North Westminster. In Grafton the South Branch Saxtons River empties into the left side of the river. Near North Westminster, the flow overcomes the Twin Falls. Finally, the Saxtons River flows along the southern edge of Bellows Falls in the Connecticut River. The Saxtons River has a length of 37 km. Its catchment area covers 200 km ². The catchment area is bordered on the south by the West River and on the north by that of the Williams River.
