Schaproder Bodden

The Schaproder Bodden is a lagoon of the Baltic Sea between the island of Hiddensee in the west and the islands of Rügen and Ummanz in the east. In the north of Bodden Schaproder by the so-called trough between the Fährinsel and the stumbling hook the island of Rügen is connected to the Vitter Bodden. In the south of Bodden goes into Kubitzer Bodden. A border would be the line between the Südspitzen of Hiddensee ( Geller hook ) and Ummanz or connection from Geller hook - Island Heuwiese.

The Schaproder Bodden is in three places 4.5 meters deep, otherwise very shallow (generally less than 1.5 meters).

Bodden was named after the main town on the bay lying on Rügen Schaprode. The lagoon is part of the National Park Boddenlandscape and he belongs to the West Rügen Bodden.

In the southwestern part of the bay runs before Hiddensee in a very shallow wind watts. Islands this Bodden are the geese Werder, the Fährinsel and Öhe.

By the bay, the ferry lines lead to Hiddensee Schaprode, Stralsund and Zingst.
