Schermcke

Schermcke is a district of the town Oschersleben ( Bode) in the district Borde in Saxony -Anhalt ( Germany ). Until June 30, 2009 Schermcke was a separate municipality, in the 628 inhabitants on 9.41 km ² lived (31 December 2007 ).

Geography

Schermcke is located on the northwestern outskirts of Magdeburg. The area around Schermcke falls from south to Bode, while to the northwest the terrain to over 200 m above sea level. NN increases. It is to the south-eastern continuation of the Lappwald - ridge ( 205 m above Kniel. NN ). The former church was almost completely enclosed by the boundaries of the town Oschersleben ( Bode).

History

The Protestant Church of Saint Stephen, an original building from the mid-13th century, was rebuilt in 1600 in the Renaissance style and expanded. It now belongs to the parish of leeches.

The Catholic Church of Saint Norbertus was named after Norbert of Xanten. 1913 was its foundation stone was laid, and in 1914 she received her ordination. In 1999, the church was added to the monument list the State Conservation Office. Today the church is used only rarely since 2006 has belonged to the parish of St. Mary's is based in Oschersleben.

A castle was first mentioned in the 12th century. 1373 transferred the property to the family of the Asseburg. 1511 was the construction of a four-winged castle. 1720 the Prussian castle domain. 1900 transferred the ownership of Ernst Wrede, who built on the walls of the old castle in 1902 a two-story castle. 1945, the owners were expropriated and expelled by the communists. The farm Schermcke in the Breite Straße 6 is the oldest half- timbered house in the village.

Exactly 40 years from 1 July 1950 to 30 June 1990 Schermcke was a part of the community Ampfurth, now also part of the town Oschersleben. The persistence of Sherm Shrouded brought on 1 July 1990, the autonomy. Since 1995, the municipality performs a coat of arms ( former windmill ), a flag and a seal.

As part of the renewal of the village square and the Gemeindehof have been redesigned in recent years.

Volunteer fire department, shooting club, sports club, brass band and the Civic Association characterize the community life to which the traditional autumn and harvest festival is one.

Four kilometers south of Schermcke is the 1997 newly opened Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

Schermcke was incorporated into Oschersleben ( Bode) on 1 July 2009.

The coat of arms was approved on 21 August 1995 the government presidium Magdeburg.

The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg Kommunalheraldiker Jörg Mantzsch.

In Schermcke among other metal construction and electric companies are located, most of the residents are commuters.
