Schiaparelli (lunar crater)

Schiaparelli is a lunar impact crater on the northeast front. It lies in the plane of the Oceanus Procellarum between Seleucus in the west and Herodotus in the east. The rim is slightly eroded. East of Schiaparelli run the Dorsa Burnet north to south.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli.
