History

The company has operating companies in 26 countries and has 26 production sites (7 Central productions and 19 local production sites ). In 2009, the ski Edel AG generated sales of around 200 million euros. The number of employees at December 31, 2009 was approximately 1,500.

Since the company was founded in 1946 in Erbach near Ulm by Friedrich Schiedel the company has gone through many developments among the various owners. 1967 SCHIEDEL group was founded, which was taken over in 1990 by BRAAS / Redland. In 1998, then SCHIEDEL was acquired by Lafarge Roofing, a provider of roofing components.
