The Monier Group is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of building materials for pitched roofs as well as roof, chimney and ventilation systems. The company covers claims to operating companies in 40 countries and has 122 production sites in 33 countries. In 2012, the Monier Group generated sales of 1.315 billion euros. The number of employees was 31 December 2012 at 8,619.

The Monier Braas GmbH is a company of the Monier Group and has its headquarters in Oberursel in the Hoch-Taunus district, Hesse.

History

The roots of Monier range to 1919, the founding of the British company Redland. In 1954 Braas began producing the "Frankfurter Pan" at the plant in Heusenstamm near Frankfurt. In 1997, the roofing materials business was taken over by the Lafarge Group. These sold for March 2007 business mainly to the private equity company PAI partners. Since 2008, the company trades under the new name Monier. 2009, the financial restructuring is completed successfully; the existing lender (mainly institutional investors and banks ) are now the owners of the Monier Group.
