Schieren

Sheer is a municipality in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, in the canton Diekirch. Together with the communities Bettendorf, Colmar-Berg, Diekirch, Ettelbrück, and drakes things is Schieren the Nordstad region. This region is, next to the cities of Luxembourg and Esch -sur-Alzette, the third development pole of the Grand Duchy.

History

The community Schieren was created by an Act of 22 January 1850. Previously, the village was part of the community Ettelbrück.

On 4 March 1967, he created in Schieren one of the first cable TV networks Luxembourg. Today the citizens Schieren 62 analog and 100 digital TV channels and 40 radio programs plus Internet are offered through CATV.
