Geographical location

The shingle head is in the Upper Harz Harz nature park. It rises between the southwest end of the actual field - ridge to the east and the main town of Osterode am Harz in the west. His landscape falls toward north-northeast through the Schachttal to the eastern end of the Sösestausees with dortigem forebay from, through the valley of springing on the mountain little Steinau to south-southwest to the Valley of Sieber and along the swelling also on the mountain Eipenke west-north- west to the Valley of Söse.
