Scott Martin (athlete)

Scott Martin ( born October 12, 1982 in Wodonga ) is an Australian shot putter and discus thrower.

In 2006 he won at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne gold in discus throw and bronze in the shot put.

In the following years he focused on the shot put. At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, he left in qualifying. In 2008 he finished seventh at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia, but came at the Olympic Games in Beijing as little past the first round addition, as with the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.

In 2010 he was eighth at the World Indoor Championships in Doha.

At the Olympic Games in London in 2012, he failed to qualify for the final round. 2004, 2005 and 2006, he was national champion in the discus throw, 2006 and 2010 in the shot put.

Scott Martin is 1,90 m tall and weighs 130 kg. He is coached by Gus Puopolo and starts for the Ringwood Athletics Club.
