Scouse

Scouse [ skaʊs ] is a dialect of English, which is spoken in the Merseyside around the city of Liverpool.

It differs greatly from the dialects of the neighboring regions of Cheshire and Lancashire. This is due to the numerous immigrants in the harbor area of Liverpool. The word Scouse was originally a variation of the word " lobscouse ", which was probably modified from the German court " Labskaus ". Inhabitants of Liverpool are derived therefrom referred to as " Scousers ". Scouse is characterized by a strongly accented language with large differences between the pitches used. The dialect has also in to other regional differences.
