Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium

The Melbourne Aquarium is an aquarium in the center of Melbourne in Australia, which was built in 1999.

Particularly well known is the Melbourne Aquarium for the sharks shown. Besides the many different types of marine life a large collection of Australian jellyfish is exhibited in their natural habitat. In addition to a tide pool are also seen regularly short-term exhibitions of various kinds. The Melbourne Aquarium is located on the banks of the Yarra River, but the river is not part of the exhibition area of the aquarium.

At the beginning of opening the ventilation system was not working properly, with 60 visitors suffering from Legionnaires' disease and two of them died, so that the number of visitors decreased initially.
