Sean Kinney

Sean Howard Kinney ( born May 27, 1966) is an American musician. He became known in the early 1990s as the drummer of the influential grunge band Alice in Chains.

Kinney's musical talent was encouraged early on by his grandfather, who was a member of the band The Cross Cats. Kinney was at the age of nine years a member of this lineup.

Between 1989 and 1996 he took with Alice in Chains released four albums and two EPs. After the dissolution of the band Kinney played on the two solo albums Boggy Depot ( 1998) and Degradation Trip by Jerry Cantrell, the guitarist of Alice in Chains. In collaboration with Metallica in 1998 was a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd song Tuesday's Gone.

On the occasion of a benefit concert for victims of the tsunami in the Indian Ocean came Kinney again in 2005 along with the surviving members of Alice in Chains on.
