Sébastien Chabal

Sébastien Chabal ( born December 8, 1977 in Valence, Drôme ) is a French rugby player.

Chabal joined in 1998 by the Association Valence Sportif, in the second French amateur league Fédérale 2 to CS Bourgoin- Jallieu in the top 14, the highest French professional league. From 2004 to 2009 he played for Sale Sharks in the English Premiership. He occupied during this time playing positions in the third row.

At the end of the season 2008/ 09 he left England again and moved to the then newly promoted Racing Métro 92 in the Top 14 back. In the traditional association of the Parisian suburb it was used during the game in the second row.

After disagreements with Pierre Berbizier, the coach of Racing Métro 92, Chabal left early the Top 14 for 2012 to be guesting for a short time at the Australian Association Balmain RC. In the 2012/13 season he signed a contract with before in the Pro D2, the second professional league of France, descended Lyon OU.

Chabal was 62 times (as of March 11, 2011 ) was used in the French national team. He made his debut against Scotland, further he belonged to the tribe of the tournaments in the world championship in 2003 and 2007 and the Six Nations tournament between 2007 and 2011, when he played in the second row.

Because of its rabid appearance ( a full beard and long hair ) he has received, inter alia, the nickname " l' Homme of Cavernes " ( Cave Man ). His optical work and public appearances brought him outside the sport a great reputation and numerous endorsement deals.

Chabal is 1,92 m tall and weighs 115 kg.
