Sébastien Le Toux ( born January 10, 1984 in Mont -Saint -Aignan, Seine- Maritime, France ) is a French football player. Currently, he plays in Major League Soccer for the New York Red Bulls.

Career

Beginnings in France

Since the age of 13, he played football at Stade Rennes. At 17, he attended the youth academy of the club, as Rennes but two years later no professional contract offered to him, he moved to FC Lorient. There he could not prevail and decided to go to the USA.

From the USL to MLS

In the spring of 2007 he moved to the Seattle Sounders. Previously, he had a trial at FC Dallas, but could not convince there, so he signed with the Sounders.

In his first season in the USL First Division Le Toux scored ten goals and was next to Charles Gbeke Montreal Impact scorer. In addition, he won with his team the championship. He was voted the best player in the league in 2007.

On 8 May 2008 Le Toux signed with the Seattle Sounders FC, ​​who played in Major League Soccer from the 2009 season. During the season, he played 28 times for the newest franchise of the MLS, but was able to achieve only one goal. In the U.S. Open Cup Final in 2009, he prepared the winning goal for the Sounders.

On 2 July 2008, he announced in an interview that he would be willing to play for the national team of the United States.

At the end of the season he was not among the eleven players, the Sounders for the MLS expansion could protect Draft 2009. He was drafted on 25 November 2009 by Philadelphia Union in the MLS Expansion Draft.

Le Toux scored on 10 April 2010, the first goal in the history of Philadelphia Union. In the same season he scored a total 14 goals and was top scorer of the team. He was in the starting line-up at the MLS All -Star Game in 2010 against Manchester United. In his second season he scored 11 goals for the Union.

After a trial with English first division club Bolton Wanderers in January 2012, which did not lead to a commitment that he moved against a transfer to Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

On July 13 there was a barter, as a result, Le Toux switched to the New York Red Bulls and Dane Richards to Vancouver. Already in the 24th minute of his debut for New York met Le Toux against the Seattle Sounders. The match ended 2-2 July 15, 2012.
