Sebezhsky District
The Sebeschski rayon (Russian Себежский район ) in the Pskov Oblast, Russia, located in the extreme west of the country on the border with Latvia and Belarus. Administrative center is the city Sebezh.
Geography
The area of Rajons bordered to the north by the Rajons Krasnogorodski and Opotschezki, on the east by the Rajons Pustoschkinski and Newelski, in the west on the south by Latvia and Belarus. The largest rivers are Idriza, Tscherneja, Konopljastik, Dosma and Issa.
History
The Rajon was founded on 1 August 1927.
Traffic
By Rajon leads the European Route 22, known in Russia on the section between Latvian border and Moscow as M9 Baltija.
