Seconds before the accident ( engl. Seconds From Disaster ) is an American documentary series on National Geographic Channel, which examines the worst accidents in modern times and is investigating the causes of the disasters. The series consists of 62 episodes (as of October 2012) and will be broadcast in Germany by NGC Germany and N24 (currently 6th Season ).

Concept of a sequence

After a brief introduction to the subject is presented in the first part, as you have experienced the misfortune which also includes interviews with witnesses play a role. The second part shows how investigators (including NTSB ) searched for causes. At the end of the disaster is summarized again, this time all the relevant facts that led to the disaster, called and sometimes even mentioned how since then prevents a recurrence of such an accident.
