Secretary-General of the United Nations
The Secretary-General of the United Nations ( UNSG abbreviation ) is the chairman of the UN Secretariat, one of the primary organs of the United Nations.
The Secretary-General is chief administrative officer of the UN and is therefore primarily responsible for the administration of the UN. In addition, he represents the organization to the outside.
The UN Secretary General is appointed on the recommendation of the Security Council for five years by the General Assembly. Re-election is possible. Tasks
The Secretary-General coordinates the daily work of the UN, and participates in the meetings of the principal organs, with the exception of the International Court of Justice ( ICJ). About his work, he shall report to the General Assembly an annual report. He is responsible for both the preparation of the budget and the implementation of financial management. He represents the organization in the international arena and as a whole to the Member States of the United Nations.
