The Seebek is a small stream in Hamburg, which flows from Bramfelder lake in a southerly direction and empties into the Osterbek approximately 3 km away.

Geography

The popularly called also " the river of " waters ( it forms the border between Bramfeld and Barmbek ) has a good water quality. In the 1980s, the river bed has been largely displaced to a more natural state after it previously largely degenerated into a concrete drainage ditch. Today, the creek offers many excellent small animals habitat. The process of restoration is not yet complete, since March 2005, the project Kingfisher NABU Hamburg deals with the improvement, in particular the continuity of Seebek. The area surrounding the Seebek is a habitat for insects, amphibians and fish and a popular recreation destination.

Seebek since 1959 is also the name of an Alster steamer.
