Sector gasa (Russian Сектор газа, may in the Russian gas sector or sector of the gas, but also the Gaza Strip, respectively) is the name of a well-known punk band from Voronezh, Russia to the band leader Yuri Nikolayevich Klinskich (Russian Юрий Николаевич Клинских ) ( Nickname Choi ) and otherwise changing cast. The music group was founded in 1987. The musical style of the band is characterized by melodic sounding, heavily marked by Profanity pieces whose experimentation, is only surpassed by their wild, emotional splendor. The repertoire can be mainly divided into socio-critical pieces, interpretations of Russian folk songs, mystic pieces about vampires and werewolves, rock ballads and, not least, metal- like pieces.
The band's name is derived from the unofficial name of a district of the city of Voronezh, of which the band sings that the environment is polluted there by the many gas factories so that no one would be 40 years old. In fact, the band's leader Yuri Choi died on 4 July 2000 at the age of 35 years due to heart failure.
Some former band members founded the band after the death of Choi's ex- gasa sector, but not as well known by far was as the original. Since many sector - Gasa fans regarded the name as arrogance, is ex sector Gasa finally renamed into " Voronezh ".
