Self-Realization Fellowship

Self-Realization Fellowship / Yogoda Satsanga Society of India is a worldwide spiritual organization founded in 1920 by Paramahansa Yogananda. It is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

Description

To date, the group that wants to bring about a better understanding among people managed humanitarian life's work of Yogananda. The roots of the community not only in the Christian religion, but provides, inter alia, also Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism and Judaism committed.

After the founder's death in 1952 was Rajarsi Janakananda ( James J. Lynn ), a closest confidant Yogananda, at the top of the organization. He was succeeded in 1955 Daya Mata ( Faye Wright), one of the first and closest disciples of Yogananda, as President.

Trivia

Elvis Presley unnoticed frequently visited by the public facilities of the SRF and used it as a place of rest and reflection. With Daya Mata he formed a close friendship.
