The Sella is a river in the autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain.

Geography

The Sella rises in the National Park Picos de Europa at the places Fonseya and Sajambre in the province of León to 1,100 meters above sea level, reached after a short run, the Asturias region and leads after 56 km in the Ribadesella in the Bay of Biscay.

The river flows through the communities of Ponga, Amieva, Cangas de Onis, Parres (Arriondas ), and Ribadesella.

Tributaries of the Sella

The Rio Sella flows through the mountain range of Picos de Europa, where it is fed by numerous mountain streams. Especially during the snow melt in the upper reaches of the river is often called " tearing ".
