Semiarundinaria

Semiarundinaria fastuosa

Semiarundinaria ( syn.. Brachystachyum Keng ) is a genus of bamboo subtribe Shibataeinae, which also includes the genus Phyllostachys counts.

Description and Use

Semiarundaria are medium- high bamboo species ( 3-14 m), generally form their stalks three branches per node. The stalks have diameters of 1 to 4 cm. They form only a few streamers and therefore need less space than eg Phyllostachys species. Since many species are hardy, they are also cultivated in Europe.
