Band History

The founding members were Nick Michaelson (guitar), Heitham Al -Sayed (vocals), Kerstin Haigh (vocals), John Morgan ( drums), James Barrett ( bass) and Alan " Haggis " Haggerty ( Engineer, Producer and programmer). In 1992, the DJ Andy Clinton at the band. With their mix of hard rock, hip- hop with psychedelia and electronica influences, which is often referred to as rap rock, they belonged to the crossover wave in the mid 90s.

Her breakthrough had with her ​​performance at the Glastonbury Festival in 1992, which helped them to achieve positive press and a recording contract. Their debut single Eject was a number-one hit in the indie charts at once. With the follow-up singles The Key Switch and they made ​​it into the official UK charts. The debut album Stacked Up even rose to number 4.

From 1993 to 1995, the much -piece band was almost constantly on tour, twice in Europe and then as support for Moby in the USA. During this time the internal tensions grew so much that adopted three members in August 1995. Without Morgan, Al -Sayed and haggis Senser made ​​and continue for another tour, they produced one more album, entitled Asylum. Even before the release they made a foray into the genre drum and bass under the name De: Senser. Neither the project nor the second crossover album left a great impression.

Then the band broke up in early 1999. Only a few years later the members came together again when her record label inquired for a best-of CD. Then went all the original members, including three who had tried unsuccessfully in the meantime under the name Lodestar together into the recording studio and produced a new album titled Schematic tying in directly to the debut Stacked Up. Also the next studio album, How to Do Battle ( 2009) continued the well-known style, with its 90s music, but they could gain no further successes.

Senser are known for their largely political texts and their commitment against racism.
