Serby

Serby ( German: Zerbau ) is a town in the rural community Glogów in powiat Głogowski. The place is located in the Province of Lower Silesia in Poland. Serby has about 1,200 inhabitants.

Geography

Serby is located in the direction of Leszno about four kilometers northeast of the city Glogów. About a kilometer away is Stare Serby. The place is located at an altitude of about 76 meters above sea level.

History

In 1911, the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul was completed ( Sw. Apostolov Piotra i Paweł ) in what was then Zerbau. 1938, the place was renamed as part of the National Socialist local renamings in Lerchenberg. 1945 Zerbau was incorporated as Serby to Poland. Serby was from 1975 to 1998 part of Legnica Voivodeship.
