Stare Serby

Stare Serby ( German: Lerchenberg ) is a town in the rural community Glogów in powiat Głogowski. The place is located in the Province of Lower Silesia in Poland. Stare Serby has about 140 inhabitants.

Geography

Stare Serby is located about five kilometers northeast of the city Glogów towards Leszno. About a kilometer west towards Glogów is the place Serby. The place is located at an altitude of about 76 meters above sea level.

History

To April 1, 1938 Lerchenberg (now Serby ) incorporated in the nearby town of Zerbau, in the wake of the Nazi local renaming took the name Lerchenberg then. The actual Lerchenberg was now called Old Lerchenberg. A new town was renamed in Stare Serby was dropped in 1945 as the place to Poland. From 1975 to 1998 he was part of the Legnica Voivodeship.
