Sercan Güvenışık

Sercan Güvenisik ( born March 1, 1980 in Ankara) is a Turkish football player, who also has German citizenship.

Career

Güvenisik started his football career with the VSC 1862 Donauwörth. He then moved to the D -Jugend FC Augsburg, and played there until he moved to the B- youth of the FC Bayern Munich. In the A- youth, he returned to Augsburg, where it was in 1998 raised to the first team where the striker played a year in the Regional, showed good performances and 10 goals scored, and he as a 19- year-old moved to MSV Duisburg. In the zebra he played until 2003 six times in the Bundesliga (no gate) and 74 times in the Bundesliga 2 (12 goals).

In July 2003 Güvenisik joined the Turkish first division club Denizlispor, but he left after only six months back in order to join the Southern regional league 1 SC Feucht. He then moved again in the first Turkish Vestel Manisaspor league. Due to irregularities in salaries, he returned after a year to Germany. In the second half of the Regionalliga Nord 2005/ 06 he laced his boots for Preußen Münster. There, he scored six goals in 11 games, was a crowd favorite ( "King güve " ), but could not prevent the descent of the traditional club in the Oberliga Westfalen. This was due to a serious injury to his cruciate ligament, suffered in the championship game against the second team of the 1st FC Cologne that initially put him five weeks out of action.

From the summer of 2006 he was in the squad of the second division side FC Carl Zeiss Jena and but had to be operated on the lesioned cruciate ligament and was out for six months. In June 2007, he signed with the regional league team Rot-Weiss Essen a one-year contract. For the season 2008/ 09 changed Güvenisik to third division side SC Paderborn 07 The SC Paderborn 07 he was suspended briefly on 27 April 2009 because of his misconduct after substitution. With the SC 07 Güvenisik rose in the 2nd Bundesliga at the end of the season. In the preliminary round of the 2009/10 season he came on nine second division marks, however completed no game over the full season. During the winter break Güvenisik returned to Preußen Münster.

29 January 2012 Güvenisik released his contract on in Munster and signed in Major League Soccer with the San Jose Earthquakes. In the 2012 season he was in 20 games in the squad, but came only five appearances.

Sercan Güvenisik denied three U-17 games and three U-21 Games for Turkey.
