Sergei Igorewitsch Ostapchuk (Russian: Сергей Игоревич Остапчук, Belarusian Сяргей Ігаравіч Астапчук / Syarhey Iharawitsch Astaptschuk; born 19 March 1990 in Nawapolazk, Belorussian SSR; † 7 September 2011 in Tunoschna near Yaroslavl ) was a Russian- Belarusian ice hockey player who during his career was under contract, among other things at Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Kontinental Hockey League.

Career

Sergei Ostapchuk began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Chimik -SKA Nawapolazk. From there, the winger moved to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, for the second team, he was active from 2006 to 2008 in the third-class Perwaja league. He then played one year for the Huskies de Rouyn -Noranda in the Canadian Junior Football League QMJHL. There he was able to convince at first and scored 30 goals in 66 games. He also gave 37 templates. Because of his achievements, he was elected to the All- Rookie team in the league.

For the 2009/10 season Ostapchuk initially returned to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. After serving in the founded a year earlier Kontinental Hockey League could not convince in eight games and remained no points - parallel, he played three games for Lokomotives junior team in the inaugural multinational junior league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League - he spent the entire rest of the season again when the Huskies de Rouyn -Noranda in Canada. Since the 2010/11 season, the native of White Russian was with a Russian passport regularly for the first team of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the KHL on the ice, while still occasionally ran aground in parallel for their juniors in the MHL. On September 7, 2011, he was in the plane crash near Yaroslavl killed.
