Sergei Sivko

Sergei Aleksandrovich Siwko ( born June 7, 1940 in Tula, † November 10, 1966 in Moscow) was a Soviet boxer.

Siwko 1960 won a silver medal in the flyweight ( 51kg - ) at the Olympic Games in Rome. After victories over Chung Shin- cho, South Korea (KO 1 ), Antoine Porcel, France (DQ 3 ), Manfred Homberg, Germany (5-0 ), and Kiyoshi Tanabe, Japan ( 4:1), he met in the final, Hungary, he was already subject to Gyula Török 3-2 judges votes.

1961 Siwko won the European Championships in Belgrade. In the final of the Bantam weight ( 54kg - ) he beat the Poland Piotr Gutman.

After Siwkos early death in 1966, a memorial tournament was held in his honor in Moscow from 1975 to 1980.
