Sergen Yalçın

Ali Riza Sergen Yalçın ( born October 5, 1972 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish football player, coach and commentator. He was the first player who has played for all four major teams in Turkey. According to him, this feat is only Burak Yılmaz succeeded. He served for a time as a football expert at a sporting event at the transmitter Kanalturk.

Playing career

He began his career at Beşiktaş Istanbul. After the years at Beşiktaş, he joined ( today's value) İstanbulspor for a transfer fee of 5 million Turkish Lira. He was in his playing days as one of the best players in Turkey. He completed his most successful years at Besiktas. Many European top clubs were interested in him, including Inter Milan, AC Milan, Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona in the course of his career. However Sergen had a very dissolute private life ( horse racing, sports betting, nightlife) and was generally regarded as a training towards lazy and rather difficult to handle, so it has never worked out to a large change to a top European club. His nickname was Süper Solak (German Superlinksfuß ). In addition, he is considered free kick specialist and has achieved many directly converted free kicks in his career.

With his goal from the league match against Kayseri Erciyesspor from August 6, 2005 Yalçın scored his 100th Erstligator and made it so that in the 100 club of the highest Turkish league.

Coaching career

From 2008 Yalçın worked at his old club Beşiktaş Istanbul as a youth coach. In the summer of 2009, he took over Beşiktaş A2 is the reserve team of the club.

In November 2013 he accepted an offer from the Turkish first division side Gaziantepspor and thus worked the first time as head coach. On March 25, 2014 Yalçın resigned as manager of Gaziantepspor.

Private
