Sergey Vasilyevich Gerasimov

Sergei Vasilyevich Gerasimov (Russian: Сергей Васильевич Герасимов; * 14 Septemberjul / September 26 1885greg in Mozhaisk, .. † April 20, 1964 in Moscow) was a Russian- Soviet portrait and landscape painter and illustrator.

In 1966 he was awarded the Lenin Prize. In 1958 the title People's Artist of the Soviet Union, he was awarded, in 1956 Gerasimov earned his doctorate in art history, from 1947 he was an active member of the Academy of Fine Arts of the Soviet Union.

He illustrated books by Nikolai Alexeyevich Nekrasov and Maxim Gorky.
